To scale up the debate on this year’s IWD theme, #BreaktheBias, the Punjab SDGs Unit, and the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry co-hosted a webinar titled “Breaking the Glass Ceiling”. The panel discussion provided a platform to engage a great line-up of speakers who shared highly commendable insight on overcoming barriers to the progress of women leaders in society. The panel debate also highlighted the challenges and opportunities for women's advancement and economic prosperity through workforce development, vocational education and skills training, legal protections and rights, and the availability of microfinancing loans. Notable speakers included Uzma Kardar, Chairperson, Standing Committee on Gender Mainstreaming, Punjab; Mian Nauman Kabir, President, Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry; Dr. Amjad Saqib, Founder and CEO Akhuwat; Ume Laila Azhar, Executive Director, HomeNet Pakistan; Sam Ali Dada, President Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry; and was moderated by Maryam Raza, Research Analyst, Punjab SDGs Unit.
