The Punjab SDGs Unit conducts extensive capacity-building training sessions for government officials in all 36 government line departments yearly, before the finalization of the provincial budget and Annual Development Plan. In this regard, the Unit hosted a series of capacity-building sessions for the Provincial Departments on integrating SDGs into Punjab's planning and budgetary processes. These sessions aimed to create an enabling space for policy dialogue and collaboration among provincial line departments of Social, Infrastructure Development, Services & Production, and Governance Sectors of Punjab to sensitize them about Sustainable Development Goals, targets & indicators, and more specifically, how they relate to their interventions. Further, the Punjab SDGs Unit held demonstrations on the SMDP Portal—developed by the Government of Punjab to track and monitor departmental progress—on how to tag their respective interventions against SDGs targets and indicators.
