The Annual Development Programme is a key policy instrument that translates the developmental vision of the government through strategic resource allocation with a medium-term perspective. The Punjab SDGs Support Unit strives to integrate SDGs into key government policy frameworks such as Punjab Growth Strategy, White paper, RISE Framework, Medium Term Development Framework, and Annual Development Plan. The Unit has been conducting yearly comprehensive reviews since 2016 of Annual Development Plans (ADPs) produced by the Planning & Development Board that guide development planning in Punjab.
Most recently, the Punjab SDGs Unit provided technical support to the P&D Board, Punjab, through a compact analysis of the Annual Development Programme against SDGs allocations reserved for the ongoing and new schemes in GoPb’s Budget 2022-23. The ADP for 2022-23 had a total outlay of Rs. 664,612 million with 6,306 development interventions. The Punjab SDGs Unit mapped all 6,306 interventions against the 17 SDGs and 169 targets related to their identified programmatic objectives and beneficiaries, categorizing the 17 SDGs into four thematic cluster groups, namely Social Cluster, Economic Cluster, Environmental Cluster, and Inclusivity Cluster.
