The Punjab SDGs Unit engages the diverse public and private stakeholders and UN agencies to ensure holistic planning, integrated monitoring, and effective implementation of the SDGs at the provincial and district level. The overarching aim is to pursue an inclusive and equitable approach to advising the government on vital SDGs issues and priorities and promote dialogue among all stakeholders.
In keeping with this objective, the Unit pursues an enabling environment for diverse public and non-public stakeholders ranging from parliamentarians, public officials, academia, private sector organizations, businesses, CSOs, youth, and district governments. These engagements are not limited to merely coordination for SDGs but focus on resource mobilization and finding innovative solutions to accelerate progress on the prioritized SDGs.
Through these partnerships, the Punjab SDGs Unit also aims to encourage the policy and decision-makers to become more sensitized and the relevant stakeholders and masses more aware of and affiliate with the SDGs through enhanced understanding and ownership.
